What is Freeze Tag?

Freeze Tag is an improv game in which two players begin a scene from a suggestion. At any point, another player can call “Freeze!”, tap out one of the active players, take their exact physical position, and begin a completely new scene.

Get a Suggestion

Begin with a suggestion from the audience, such as a location, object, or relationship.

Start the Scene

Two players begin a scene based on the suggestion.

Call “Freeze!”

Any player outside the scene can call “Freeze!” when a physical position sparks an idea.

Tag Out and Take the Position

The incoming player taps one current player, who leaves, and takes that exact physical position.

Initiate a New Scene

The incoming player begins an unrelated scene inspired by the physical position. The remaining player responds.

Continue the Cycle

Keep freezing scenes, tagging in, and beginning new scenes.
